New Zealand's AI Landscape: A Local Perspective With Professor James Maclaurin

In this episode we explore the AI landscape in New Zealand in a fact based and insightful discussion with Professor James Maclaurin of The University of Otago. The discussion is based on the findings of two published research reports: The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Jobs and Work in New Zealand and Government Use of Artificial Intelligence in New Zealand.
James is a co-director of the University’s Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Public Policy (Otago.ac.nz/CAIPP) and co-signatory to the University of Otago’s memorandum of understanding on research into the social, ethical and legal effects of artificial intelligence with the New Zealand government Department of Internal Affairs. He is a principal investigator on the Artificial Intelligence and Law in New Zealand Project, which is funded under the New Zealand Law Foundation’s Internet Law and Policy Project.
